We never have access to your funds or your keys.
DeFiMentor is non-custodial. We cannot see your seed phrase, we cannot move your tokens, and we never ask for your private key. Any request for your seed phrase is a scam, including one that appears to come from us.
Information we collect
DeFiMentor is a learning platform, not a custodian. The information we hold is limited to what the product needs to function:
- Wallet address. When you connect a wallet, we record your public address (the one beginning
0x…). This is how we associate your progress, earnings, and referral position with you. We do not collect your name, email, or password, because DeFiMentor has no account system. - On-chain activity relating to DeFiMentor. We index public Polygon blockchain events emitted by our own smart contract — funding transactions, earnings, and referral relationships. This information is already public on the blockchain; we index it so we can display your dashboard.
- Referral codes. If you arrive through a referral link, we record which code you used so that referral rewards route correctly.
- Diagnostic and error data. We use Sentry to capture application errors so we can fix them. This may include your IP address, browser type, and the page you were on when the error occurred.
Information we do not collect
- Your seed phrase or private keys. These never leave your wallet.
- Custody of your tokens. We cannot transfer your assets.
- Government ID or KYC documents. DeFiMentor does not perform identity verification.
- Payment card details. All payments happen on-chain, in DAI, from your own wallet.
How we use it
We use the information above to operate the product: to show your dashboard, calculate earnings, attribute referrals, and fix bugs. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.
A note on blockchain data
Blockchain records are permanent and public. Transactions you make with DeFiMentor are written to the Polygon blockchain, which we do not control and cannot edit or erase. Anyone can read them. This is inherent to public blockchains and applies regardless of any deletion request you make to us.
Your choices
You can disconnect your wallet at any time from within the app. You can request that we delete the off-chain data we hold about your address (dashboard state, diagnostics) by writing to us at the address below. As explained above, we cannot delete on-chain records.
Third parties we rely on
- Trust Wallet — the wallet software required to connect. DeFiMentor does not receive your recovery phrase or private keys.
- Reown / WalletConnect — remote wallet connectivity and domain verification when that connection method is used.
- Cloudflare — hosting, and the database that stores indexed events.
- Sentry — error reporting.
- Polygon — the public blockchain our contract is deployed to.
